I have been a big fan of this stroller since day one. Before I was even married (much less thinking about kids) I saw celebrity moms toting their tots in Bugaboos and made the mental note, 'I will have that for my baby!' They are definitely one of the more costly strollers on the market but it has been worth every penny, especially while in infancy.
The bugaboo comes with a bassinet top. Which has been a dream for us! It is basically equivalent to a portable bed on wheels for him. For the first few months he slept just as comfortably, out and about, as he did at home in our co-sleeper (we moved him to the crib at 4 months).
When he was 3 weeks old we even took him to Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando. We really wanted to take him to Grinchmas and see if he would like looking at all the lights. We only went two hours but he slept undisturbed in the bassinet the whole time. One of the other huge advantages is that no one can see down into the stroller, which meant park goers weren't gawking at him, hovering over and trying to touch him. He was completely covered in his safe, comfortable little world inside the bugaboo. Germs were a huge concern for me at the theme park. I am huge advocate for washing hands and not letting sick people around him.
I must say at being only 3 weeks old, he enjoyed being pushed in the bugaboo more than the theme park. He enjoyed the gentle bouncing while being strolled along and he slept the whole time. He never woke up to see the Grinchmas lights. His favorite thing in the park was being strolled over the wooden bridge and the cobblestones at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Now that he is older we have taken him to Universal, SeaWorld and all the Disney parks. I will blog about those adventures and our other strollers in future posts. We also have the Uppababy G-Luxe Jake 2013, the Chicco cortina travel system in cubes and are in the market for a great jogging stroller.

Starting Solids: Sweet Potato Puree with Beaba BabyCook
Last night, on Barron's 6 month birthday, he started solids for the first time! Very exciting for Andrew and I, and I'm sure Barron as well. He has been grabbing at food on our plates for awhile now. We started him on a homemade sweet potato puree using our Beaba BabyCook.
If you are in the market for a baby food maker, I love my BabyCook. I did some research before adding to my registry and the reason I chose it was because it could steam and blend the baby food, plus had great reviews from other moms. It is simple and gets the job done. And I had less clean up since I could steam and blend in one appliance.
After visiting with Barron's doctor yesterday we chose to start him on sweet potatoes. The puree was pretty simple to make...
Sweet Potato Puree
1. Wash and peel sweet potato.
2. Cut into cubes.
3. Steam sweet potato cubes - with the babycook I filled the water to level 3. Placed the cubes in the steam basket and turned on. 15 minutes later the sweet potatoes were perfectly steamed.
4. Blend sweet potatoes - I poured sweet potatoes from steal basket into glass jar, placed on the mixing lid and turned to blend for about 20 seconds, stirred and blended again for about 20 seconds.
5. Let cool and enjoy! - put leftovers into the Beaba multi-portion trays (ice cube trays work too) and freeze for a later time.
The Beaba Babycook is a great baby food maker. I like making my own baby food because that way I know exactly what Barron is eating. And steaming is the best when it comes to baby food beacuse the steam allows the most nutirents to be preseved from the vegetables. I also like the Beaba BabyCook becuase when it is done, it turns off automatically. Great for moms.

Barron's first time with solids was a huge success and he loved the sweet potatoes! It was so fun to feed him! He loved every minute. In 3 days, assuming he has no allergic reactions, we will start him on bananas, then we'll try avocados. I will keep you posted on how Barron likes them!
